Best Gong Competitors to Check Out

If you want to increase revenue and deliver better customer service, you definitely need revenue and conversation intelligence software. Why?

  • Gartner predicts that by 2025, 75% of B2B sales organizations will use AI-based selling playbooks created with revenue intelligence software (Gartner, 2021).
  • Companies, on average, see an 81% ROI from deploying speech analytics technology. (Opus Research, 2019).

The beauty of revenue intelligence is that it allows you to analyze your sales or customer care performance to predict where to put efforts and what to finetune to achieve your KPIs in real-time and after the conversation.

Speech analytics software records, transcribes, and analyzes sales calls, chats, and video meetings and instantly translates the conversational data into visual performance dashboards to provide actionable insights.

This way, you can understand who your top performers are why exactly (pattern extraction), identify keywords, spot risky topics, and coach sales teams on best practices that will help them close deals.

While there are reasons why Gong.io is among the best in the field, it is not suited for everyone.

This post will share seven interesting Gong alternatives in the revenue and conversational intelligence market.

How did we collect our data?

The following article is an in-depth review of the better-rated software for revenue and conversational intelligence.

To provide a fair, thorough, and rich understanding of each of the tools' main advantages and disadvantages, we used three primary sources for the comparison:

  • Reviews: blogs, comparison articles, and high-traffic user review websites.
  • Ratings: all scores are from the G2 website, one of the most widely spread review sites for software, with over 5.2 million visitors a month.
  • Commercial websites of each featured software developer: for updated information on pricing, special features, and technical information.

How did we rank these tools?

To make sure we reasonably compare, we defined seven criteria that we consider most critical while choosing software:

  • Pricing: results come at a price, of course, but no one can assure a worthy return on investment. After all, it all depends on your capacity to interpret data accurately and take advantage of sales analytics. That said, our pick of tools is a selection of cost-effective business intelligence solutions.
  • User experience (UX): you might find computer geeks among your call center crew, but let's be honest, those are the rarest cases. User-friendly, easy-to-learn tools can save you tons of time.
  • User interface (UI): a visually aesthetic user interface is more than a fancy treat. Attractive colors, fonts, and distinctive buttons can help make the whole experience with the tool more pleasant and motivate your employees.
  • Rating: most scores are taken from the G2 website, a reliable site that collects a vast volume of user reviews.
  • Advanced features: all of the Gong.io alternatives listed here will provide helpful insights into your conversations. But some advanced features are worth mentioning.
  • Reviews: the experience of other users while employing a product is very useful for evaluation. You can always point the odd comment out, but there must be truth to it when something repeats often.
  • Free trial: having the possibility to put your hands on a tool before committing to pay the price is more than a nice-to-have. Let's dive into our top picks and see their pros and cons.

Gong.io

Source Pricing: an annual base price of $5000 plus $1200-$1400 a year per user (fluctuates depending on user count)

UX: 5/5

UI: 4.5/5

G2 Rating: 4.7/5

Advanced features:

  • Customer scoring

  • Risk management

  • Leaderboard

  • Call categorization

  • Automated follow-up notifications

Users review:  “I appreciate that Gong attempts to make transcriptions of calls. However, this feature falls a bit short. If Gong's transcription abilities were better, not only would it make my job a lot easier in referencing my meetings, but it would also improve Gong's abilities to gain insights” – Casey A. on G2. Free trial: No Gong.io is more than a call recording technology. It provides a great way to keep track of topics discussed without the need to write everything down during sales calls. Apart from a good documenting system, it offers automated follow-up via email to help sellers provide prospects with the information they requested right after the phone call.

Another great feature of the software is the ability to tag & share calls, making collaboration and feedback easy.

On the downside, users say that sometimes the transcript isn't completely accurate – which we might overlook if it weren't for the fact that it also only supports a few languages.

Plus, the company requires a minimum number of seats to access a plan, so while this could be an interesting solution for some large companies, it is not suited for small and medium businesses.

Now let’s see some of the best alternatives to Gong io.

1. Ender Turing

UI: 4.7/5

G2 Rating: Not rated yet

Advanced features:

With the Ender Turing team, we have been able to create a functional, cost-effective, innovative solution that effectively complements our omnichannel contact center platform." – Konstantin T.

No negative reviews so far.

Free trial: Yes, 14 days Ender Turing is a high-powered conversion intelligence tool that leads your customer care and sales teams to higher revenue and better customer service.

With speech AI technology – which transcribes the texts of all sales calls, chats, and video meeting conversations – you can find the root cause of conversation problems, identify your top performers, and provide self-coaching best practices to every employee.

The smart reporting tool is a good start off point. Ender Turing's clear-cut reports are pretty easy-to-understand and customize. It's here that you will find data about:

  • Performance of each of your sales reps

  • Skills to improve per each sales rep

  • Patterns that lead to closing deal

But that's not all. You can automatically set the software to classify the emotions, intents, most frequently used words, create automated email sending on events that occurred in the meeting.

Furthermore, you can provide feedback to your sales reps by linking to the exact place of conversation and trigger alerts for critical issues – some effective sales coaching techniques. And, on top of this, it supports all European languages in addition to English and Mexican Spanish.

UX: 4/5

UI: 4.5/5

G2 Rating: 4.7/5 Advanced features:

  • Content templates
  • Account-based sales engagement
  • Playbook creation
  • Employee competition
  • Integrations (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and more)

User review: “The knowledge scores increase rapidly even after anyone just scrolls through the reading materials. There should be an intelligent way to make people go through the material rather than just scroll through and score”  – José L. on G2. Free trial: No

Designed for companies with large sales, Mindtickle offers an all-in-one solution that provides sales enablement, content management, conversation intelligence, and coaching tools.

Overall functionalities are ok, but its greatest strengths are in the sales coaching area. Features like onboarding, product training, real-time coaching, and performance are user-friendly and praised by users.

Another advantage users point out is that the tool comes at a reasonable price, making it an exciting option for beginners.

Unfortunately, reviewers say you might face some low speed or connectivity problems and that UX could use some improvement. Still, for those who want a scalable, affordable solution, this tool is a good place to start.

3. Revenue.io

Pricing: Get a quote. There are four pricing tiers.

UX: 4.5/5

UI: 4.4/5 G2 Rating: 4.7/5

Advanced features:

  • Multi-channel call attribution

  • Interactive voice response (IVR)

  • Commission calculator

  • Task management

  • CRM data integration

User reviews: “On some occasions, it suddenly stops working for a minute. However, it also depends on the type of system you are using. Apart from that, they can include call-back features to improve productivity. Everything else just works amazingly on this software”. – Karthik N. from G2. Free trial: Yes

Revenue.io is a RevOps platform powered by artificial intelligence that provides integrated workflow and task management features.

With agent performance management functionalities, a leaderboard, and several incentives such as triggers and a commission calculator, it makes it easy to motivate your sales teams and improve performance.

Another unique possibility is the integration with Salesforce and other CRMs – turning it into a powerful sales engagement platform.

Sadly, Revenue.io is only available in English. Plus, users say it sometimes gets slow or stops working for minutes and lacks calling-back features.

All in all, Revenue.io has an easy-to-use interface and a good amount of useful features.

4. Wingman

Pricing: There are three plans (billed annually):

  • Growth (up to 10 sales reps, basic features): $60 /month/rep.
  • Accelerator (unlimited reps plus advanced features): $90 /month/rep.
  • Enterprise (unlimited reps, advanced features, and customization): starting at $110 /month/rep.

UX: 4.5/5

UI: 4.5/5 G2 Rating: 4.6/5

Advanced features:

  • Battlecards

  • Customer-facing chatbot

  • Pipeline management

  • ROI forecasting

  • Integrations / APIs

User reviews: “It sometimes does not join calls as prompted and often has some minor bugs which of course any software would have but overall its a value for money tool and comes in very handy”. – Anonymus in G2. Free trial: Yes

If you have budget constraints, Wingman offers noteworthy value for money. If you have money limitations, you need a good AI-driven call recorder that is also a great coaching platform. These are the two basics, and Wingman covers both.

Even though its features are somewhat limited, the software is rapidly evolving, and developers react fast to users' requests. One of the coolest things about this tool is the battlecards – pop-up notes with useful information triggered by certain keywords or topics to aid the conversation. Also, Wingman connects to useful sales tools like calendars, CRM platforms, Slack, dialers, and video conferencing apps. There might be some slow loading issues and bugs, but support fixes them quickly. Overall, it's a solid platform that can help change how you operate.

5. CallRail

Pricing: There are three plans:

  • Call tracking: starting price is $45 /month plus additional usage*
  • Conversation analytics (Call tracking + transcripts + keyword analysis): $95 /month plus additional usage*
  • Marketing analytics (Call + form tracking): $95 /month plus additional usage*.
  • Analytics suite (full package): $145 /month plus additional usage*.

UX: 4/5

UI: 4.5/5

G2 Rating: 4.6/5

Advanced features:

  • Multi-channel call attribution

  • Predictive sales analytics

  • Spend management

  • Custom forms

  • Integrations (Hubspot, WordPress, and more).

User reviews: “I don't particularly dislike anything, but I wish there were more native integrations with other CRMS. I am currently having issues integrating Call Rail with Active Campaign (AC) through Zapier. If there was a way Call Rail could work with let's say top 10 CRMs where calls could automatically be logged into the CRM, that would make life easier”. – AI S at G2. Free trial: Yes.

There is something about attribution that can be tricky. If you’re new to call tracking and have trouble with attribution, CallRail sounds like your possible choice. The landing page reports are invaluable and can help easily understand what pages trigger people to come to your site and eventually end up calling.

You can also create custom lead capture forms for specific uses, such as an e-mail subscription or e-book download, and then embed them on your site. There is an interesting variety of templates to choose from and tons of personalization options. However, CallRail lacks some features that are a must-have, such as auto-call and live chat tracking. Now, this is important. If you are not tracking live chat, your attribution cannot be that accurate, right? And if you are not triggering calls as soon as a person fills in a form, aren't you losing precious time to close a sale?

6. Chorus.ai

Untitled (13).png

Source

Pricing: Get a quote. Users say it is cheaper than Gong but more expensive than other tools.

UX: 4.5/5

UI: 4/5

G2 Rating: 4.5/5 Advanced features:

  • Interactive dashboards

  • Opportunity scoring

  • Sales gamification

  • Sales activities tracking

  • Integrations (CRM platforms, Zoom)

User reviews:  “The analytics are lacking. I tried Gong on trial, and it seemed to have great analytics. Specifically the "Patience Score". In Chorus, it says the "Patience Score" measures the # of seconds between when the rep asks the question to when the customer answers the question. The recommended time is 4-6 which seems like a long pause of silence. I think there is something wrong with the way that it is measured”. – Anonymus at G2. Free trial: Yes

Are you used to working with Zoom? If you are, Chorus.ai might be the right tool for you.

With a reasonably accurate transcription feature, it is a conversation intelligence platform for your phone or video calls. And, on the plus side, ZoomInfo customers get special discounts and bundles. The main issues with Chorus.ai are the UI, which could be more intuitive, and the sales analytics, which could do better. For instance, the tool offers an IOS app, but none of your actions on the app count toward analytics. However, the price point is significantly lower than Gong's, and it has some noticeable features such as sales gamification and coaching cards, which are very useful for sales training.

7. Invoca

Invoca.png

Source

Pricing: Quotes are customized based on an annual subscription plus usage basis.

UX: 4/5

UI: 4.5/5

G2 Rating: 4.4/5 Advanced features:

  • IVR

  • Multi-channel call attribution

  • Machine learning

  • Lead qualification

  • Martech integrations

User reviews:   “Extracting reports into excel is a capability that requires more work. Often the reports extracted are formatted in an illegible format. A lot of manual work goes into refining them before sharing them with stakeholders. Automated dashboards, sent on a recurring basis, may help solve this pain point”. – Nader E at G2. Free trial: Yes

Users agree on one thing: Invoca has a top-notch support team. Account managers will make onboarding easy, and the customer experience crew is always open to suggestions on improving the tool.

The system also offers seamless integration with Salesforce and other CRM platforms, which can help manage leads more efficiently. And on top of that, the platform offers highly customizable reporting features that allow you to tailor your dashboard to show each person what is most relevant to them. However, sometimes the signal API functionality does not trigger, which can lead to data accuracy issues and it does have some limitations around filters and reporting. Even when the price seems reasonable for all the functionalities it offers, it lacks a cheaper plan with fewer features, as not everyone will need the whole package. Invoca is not the best tool, but it provides some valuable functionalities and great support – which, to be honest, is rare to find. Since initial training is provided and the UI is easy to use, you might as well have it as one of the options.

Conclusion

If you want to stay ahead of the competition, you need to understand what works and what doesn't so that you can coach successful sales teams.

Gong.io provides a magnificent all-in-one platform for sales intelligence. But it comes at a price.

There are many great Gong.io alternatives that offer similar or better features – or maybe a few less but at a better price.
